Our super new clubhouse at the Eyot Centre was officially opened by HRH The Duke of Kent yesterday.

His Royal Highness arrived on a traditional river launch from the River & Rowing Museum and was greeted by Steve Cook, Chairman of the Eyot Centre, and a host of local dignitaries.

After being shown around the new clubhouse, he was shown photo displays from each of the sections making up the Eyot Centre and was interested to hear about Henley Dragons from club Chairman Mark Hipgrave.

During his opening speech His Royal Highness reminisced about his previous visit to the tired old clubhouse in mid-winter amid mud, mouldy walls and no heating - a world apart from the impressive new building. He congratulated the dedicated team from Eyot who have driven the development and associated fund raising and declared the new building officially open.
